Mesotherapy

What is Mesotherapy ?

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical, aesthetic treatment that doesn’t require incisions or the removal of bodily tissue and instead uses a series injections to treat a number of conditions, from chronic pain, hair loss, stretch marks and psoriasis to bone and joint disorders. It’s only recently been used to reduce body fat, cellulite, and to refresh the face.

As there is no set formula for what is injected, what Doctors use in treatment may vary, and have included prescription medicines, hormones, enzymes, herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals, although not necessarily all together.

What are the benefits and how long does it last?

This multi-use treatment has the benefit of instantly improving the appearance of dull, tired skin, smoothing wrinkles, fine lines, reducing body fat and cellulite, giving fast results relatively pain free. The treatment is so simple that patients don’t need any recovery time and can go back to work straight away, with ninety-five% of results being amazing.

With mesotherapy, it’s expected that patients will need multiple treatments to get the wanted look. At first, the injection treatment will be rather frequent, with doctors visits every seven to ten days until the skin shows signs of improvement at which point doctors visits will begin to be more spread out. After four to six treatments, patients should expect the effect of the treatment to last an average of twelve to eighteen months. Recurring treatments are recommended to maintain the desired appearance.

Are there any side effects ?

As the solutions are injected directly into the treatment site, it’s believed that the side effects are reduced but there are still some to be wary of. Bruising, inflammation and swelling are likely to occur at the injection site. With a reduced risk of pigmentation, skin infections, breaks on the skin, scarring and deformity at the injection site. There is an even rarer risk of immediate or delayed allergic reactions to what is used in the injections. It’s incredibly important to make sure that you receive treatment from a proper, experienced care professional to reduce the risk of any side effects.

For aftercare it’s recommended that patients avoid touching the treatment site, as well as avoid tough and taxing activities, including exercise for twenty-four hours post treatment. It’s recommended that patients avoid alcohol and blood thinning medication before treatments, and avoid alcohol for seventy-two hours post treatment. If any swelling occurs, it’s recommended that patients apply a cold compress for fithteen minutes every hour. Patients should try sleeping face up with their head elevated to help the healing process.
